William H. Grumbles Jr. is executive-in-residence at UNC Kenan-Flagler. He serves as executive adviser to the Kenan-Flagler Leadership Initiative.

His teaching focuses on the planning and execution of individual leadership development.

Grumbles is the former president of worldwide distribution for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.). He retired from TBS, Inc. in December 2000. Grumbles joined TBS, Inc. in 1989 from Home Box Office, Inc. (HBO), where he had been Vice President, Affiliate Operations since 1980.  Grumbles joined HBO in 1978.  TBS, Inc. and HBO are wholly owned subsidiaries of Time Warner Inc.

He received his BA from Southern Methodist University.
