Corporate financial management, with an emphasis on the link between finance and strategy, is the principal focus of the work of John J. Pringle, the C. Knox Massey Professor of Business.
His recent research is in two areas: long-term economic exposure to foreign currency movements, and shareholder value creation and measurement of economic value added. He has published four books on financial management and related issues and numerous articles in professional journals. An award-winning teacher, he was a visiting professor of finance at IMD.
Dr. Pringle has acted as a consultant to numerous firms and financial institutions in the fields of financial management and management education, and has held directorships in two corporations. Among the many companies he's worked with are ABB Asea Brown Boveri, American Board of Pediatrics, Budapest Chemical Works, Burlington Industries, Danish Management Center, Dow Chemical - Europe, International Paper Company, Johnson & Johnson, Performance Bicycle, Inc., Societe Generale de Belgique, Sonoco Products Company and Sony Corporation - Europe.
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Pringle held executive positions with NCNB Corporation (now Bank of America) and RAND Corporation and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
He received his PhD from Stanford University, his MBA from Harvard University and his BEE from Georgia Tech. |
