Sergey Sanzhar's areas of research interests include corporate finance, internal capital markets and the diversification discount, bankruptcy and financial distress, and corporate governance. He teaches courses in advanced corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.

Dr. Sanzhar worked for Financial Company Kolo and Gradobank in Donetsk, Ukraine.

Dr. Sanzhar received his PhD in finance from the London Business School, where he received the Frank Russell Company Financial Award and the PhD Programme Financial Award. He received his MBA with highest honors from the University of Oregon, and a MA in economics and industrial management with highest honors from Donetsk State University in Ukraine.
