Investment banking, venture capital, investment management, family-owned businesses and entrepreneurship are among the areas of expertise of finance professor Bill Moore. He teaches investment banking.
Professor Moore is a partner at Franklin Street Partners, an investment management company.
In 1975, he founded Trident Financial Corp., a boutique investment bank that specialized in financial institution public offerings, trading and M&A transactions, and served as its CEO until its sale to KeyCorp in 1999.
He has written numerous articles on bank mergers and acquisitions, the future of community banking, thrift institutions and stock conversions for such banking publications as Bank Accounting & Finance, Bottomline, Savings Institution and American Banker.
Professor Moore serves on the boards and executive committees of RTI International and the National Humanities Center and on UNC Kenan-Flagler's Board of Visitors. He is the former chairman of the board of the MCNC Research & Development Institute and was the initial chair of the advisory boards of the UNC-Chapel Hill Programs in the Humanities, UNC Press and the North Carolina Humanities Council.
He also serves as chairman of the Weaver Foundation's investment committee and on the investment committee of the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation. He is past chairman of the Educational Foundation and past president of the Kenan-Flagler Business School Foundation.
He received his MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill and his BS from the U. S. Naval Academy. |
