Regional Alumni Clubs

Club Types

Tier I

Established or New Club

Definition A lead alumni volunteer that can identify a group of interested alumni and use this core group to build a network that organizes social and educations events on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • Interest in starting a region alumni club
  • A sustainable group of interested alumni to achieve a regional chapter e.g. minimum of 300 alumni in a 25 mile radius of the geographical area

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

  • Customize and analyze constituent interest survey to identify local interest
  • Build club leadership
  • Determine a program plan for the fiscal year (7/1 to 6/30)
  • Submit bio and photo for club web site
  • Serve as a KFBS ambassador and enhance visibility of KFBS in the area

Alumni Affairs Roles & Responsibilities

  • Set up online survey and mail paper version
  • Provide database of area alumni
  • Train volunteers
  • Promote activities via email invitations and online event calendar
  • Conduct kick-off event with KFBS representative
  • Provide funds for club development and support



Tier II

Semi-Active Club

Definition Hold one event per year and shares event information from other b-school alumni clubs.
Requirements
  • Minimal requirements for a club leadership membership: President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer
  • Minimum of one activity per year

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain club leadership
  • Plan and execute minimum of one event per fiscal year (7/1 to 6/30)
      • Secure event location
      • Manage pre-event and on-site logistics
      • Market programs to local alumni through traditional electronic means with the help of Alumni Affairs

Alumni Affairs Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide database of area alumni
  • Train volunteers
  • Promote activities via email invitations and online event calendar
  • Provide funds for club leadership development and support
  • Contact KFBS faculty members and school administrators for participation in club activities ant to facilitate communications between the two groups



Tier III

Regional Representative

Definition An alumni volunteer acting as a KFBS representative in a region where the number of alumni is currently too small to create a chapter.
Requirements
  • Interest and time to act as a KFBS rep
  • Fewer than 200 KFBS alumni in the area

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

  • Contact information listed on the KFBS Alumni Affairs web site
  • Serve as a KFBS ambassador and enhance visibility of KFBS in the area
  • If applicable, organize a no-host annual summer welcome party for newly admitted students and graduates
